On Saturday, October 14th , the Polish Supplementary School in Salem hosted a ceremony for the induction of freshmen . Parents and students attended. A banner was carried into the hall, followed by the singing of the school anthem. The children, dressed in their formal attire, were deeply moved by the event. The guests were welcomed by school principal Ewa Pawlik and first-grade teacher Karolina Wróbel. The children recited poems. When the command "To the oath" was given, the children raised their right hands toward the flag and recited the oath. After the oath, the touch of a "magic pencil" completed the induction ceremony. The students wore red caps, tied blue ribbons, and pinned badges with the school logo in the shape of ancient shields. The hall was beautifully decorated, and after the ceremony, everyone was invited for refreshments, including pizza, cake, and fruit. Parents deserve thanks for their help with preparing the hall, desserts, and cleaning. At the end, the children received beautiful diplomas and gifts, and the principal congratulated them and wished them success in their studies. Ms. Karolina extended warm words to her students. And so, the next generation of children entered the life of bilingual students, charged with continuing Polish culture and learning the Polish language.
